Coach Alex
Alex Mitchell is a dedicated coach and instructor with an extensive background in both cheerleading and dance. A 2006 graduate of St. Clairsville High School, Alex cheered for six years before continuing her athletic career at the collegiate level. She was a four-year cheerleader at the University of Akron while earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Dance. During her time in college, she also spent two seasons as a member of the AFL Cleveland Gladiators “Goddesses” dance team.
Alex brings years of coaching experience and leadership to every athlete she works with. Throughout her career, she has coached at the University of Akron, Wheeling Middle School, St. Clairsville Middle School, Bridge Street Middle School, and St. Clairsville High School. She has also been a part of MC Royalty All Stars since its beginning and is now entering her ninth season with the program.
In addition to cheerleading, Alex has an extensive dance background. She trained for 16 years at Toni Zeakes Performing Arts Centre and has spent the past ten years teaching at Studio MC Performing Arts Centre. Her experience across multiple styles of performance has helped shape her versatile coaching style and passion for athlete development.
Alex is passionate about helping athletes build confidence, strength, discipline, and resilience both on and off the mat. She believes that every athlete has the ability to succeed when given the right support, mindset, and encouragement. Watching athletes grow into confident performers and leaders is what continues to fuel her passion for coaching year after year. 👑
